Shaun of the dead

Hello there guys, I'm back after a long ass time of not writing anything, why? BECAUSE I CAN!

Alright so, today I'm going to be talking about hot fuzz. Directed by Edgar Wright, and starring Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. This film is an absolute must see for fans of horror, and for fans of British comedy. The acting is absolutely brilliant. They all have great chemistry together, with particularly notable performances by Simon and Frost. Pegg's character Shaun may be a loser, however he's so loveable that it's easy to see past his flaws as a person and relate to him. Frost's portrayal of Shaun's drug dealing roomie is absolutely hilarious, spitting out line after line of hilarity. Liz, played by Kate Ashfield plays her role fairly well, as does Lucy Davis and Dylan Moran as her room-mates Dianne and David. David is overall a complete twat of a character, making it satisfying when misfortune falls upon him, as horrible as that may sound.

The most strikingly brilliant aspect of this film is the writing. Wright and Pegg wrote the script and it's probably one of the funniest scripts that has been written in years. The jokes go from subtle, to visual, to   violent slapstick, and it all blends into an ultimately enjoyable work. There is too many callbacks to count, and it really needs multiple viewings to fully get all the humour of this film. even so, the moments trying to be serious, are suprisingly touching, probably due to the very dry nature the humour is presented in. and who can forget the references! especially this gem:
Something absolutely briliant about this film is that if you took out the horror aspects, it'd be a pretty solid horror movie.

On a final note before i finish this up, Edgar Wright's is a fantastic director. His visual style makes the film so enjoyable, with his fast editing and great overall visual flair that can be seen his other films such as Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim.

Overall this film is a must see for horror, and for people that love british comedy. Although some people might be a little turned off by the violence and language, people who can see past that will get a incredibly enjoyable experience.9.5/10
